Buzz Electrics are a dynamic electrical contracting and engineering company that provides quality electrical services to the industrial, commercial and domestic sectors and has done since 1994. We pride ourselves on our quality workmanship, great customer service and relationships. We believe that having our shareholders and directors working within the company and having a hands-on approach is the key to our success.

Buzz Electrics currently has approximately 40 full-time staff in the Hawkes Bay region, including management and administration support staff.

Buzz Electrics are constant recipients at the Master Electricians Excellence Awards due to the pride & care in their workmanship. In 2017 we received a finalist award. In 2019 we received a SILVER award for a project under 1M, and in 2022 we picked up a GOLD award for project 1-5M, a SILVER award for a project under 1M with Buzz Barham & Carl Williams both receiving personal awards for their knowledge and dedication to the electrical industry. Buzz received Industry Champion & Carl received Judges Special Recognition Award.

Villa Maria Winery

GOLD AWARD PROJECT 1 - 5M MASTER ELECTRICIANS EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2022

Villa Maria Wines engaged Buzz Electrics to be their preferred contractor for the new winery build in Hawkes Bay. Buzz Electrics were chosen over other contractors for the project due to their proven capabilities within their industrial installation team, automation team and communications division.

B-Studio Brewhouse & Bottling Plant

SILVER AWARD PROJECT UNDER 1M MASTER ELECTRICIANS EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2019

Buzz Electrics were engaged to install state-of-the-art Krones equipment for B-Studio at their new premises located in the iconic, heritage listed Rothmans Building in Napier. Buzz Electrics installed all Krones equipment ranging from bottle fillers, can fillers, warming tunnels, multiple packaging and pallet wrap machines. This project was on a tight deadline to get beer out the door, but Buzz Electrics delivered another high class installation, and this target was met.

Cavalier Bremworth Napier

SILVER AWARD PROJECT UNDER 1M MASTER ELECTRICIANS EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2022

The electrical brief for this project was to replace the legacy equipment that was currently on the equipment with a modern control system that has the capability to control all aspects of the machine, in addition to providing a category 4 safety system to monitor and control access for the machine guarding. The Buzz Electrics team handled all sides of the electrical installation and their Electrica Engineering team oversaw the design, functional operation and safety system components of the Continuous Finishing Line machine.

Apollo Projects – Hawke's Bay Regional Aquatic Centre

The Buzz Electrics team were the preferred sub-contractor for electrical services to the main contractor, Apollo Projects. Buzz Electrics were engaged early on in the design period alongside various other consultants to ensure that the design was in line with the installation methods that had to happen onsite due to the facility being a corrosive environment. Buzz Electrics did the full installation for all the electrical systems inside the building ranging from General Electrical to a CommScope Cat6A Structured Cabling System

Apollo Projects – Pettigrew Green Arena: New Rear Building

Buzz Electrics involvement began early in the planning and design phase of the project, working alongside Apollo Projects and the Pettigrew Arena team with the vision of offering a fully equipped electrical installation to meet the client's specialist needs and requirements to host sporting events, including installing lighting to a lux level to meet national sporting standards, a high-end audio & PA system, the electrical installation for the mechanical system, and power and control for scoreboards, shot clocks, divider curtain and basketball hoop winches. Buzz Electrics also carried out the full electrical installation for the amenities outside the arena.
