Project Overview
Pak'nSave Rolleston is now the largest supermarket in the South Island at over 8,000m². Aotea Electric Canterbury was engaged to deliver the complete general electrical services installation across the full facility.
The project was completed across approximately 12,000 electrical labour hours, covering coordination, installation and commissioning of all electrical systems from substation through to retail fitout.
Electrical Scope
The installation included a new 11kV network supply and 750kVA transformer, main switchboard and LV reticulation, standby diesel generation integration, UPS systems and solar PV integration. Lighting was delivered using KNX DALI by Bremca Automation and Casambi control systems by Holders Technology, with automated emergency lighting monitoring systems by Clevertronics Hive throughout.
Energy and power monitoring was integrated via Schneider systems. CCTV and security interfaces, checkout and retail services infrastructure, and extensive external car park lighting and controls were also within scope.
Project Delivery
Delivered within a complex multi-trade construction environment, the project required significant coordination with utility providers, specialist subcontractors and nominated suppliers to successfully achieve a fully integrated, high-performance electrical installation for one of Canterbury’s largest retail developments.
