Organising and installing a temporary builder supply is one of the first tasks when starting a new build. The process can be a frustrating one with multiple contractors and power authorities to deal with. Aotea Electric are able to project manage, build and install your temporary supply and remove the hassle.
Services include:

Test and Tagging
New Zealand electrical safety regulations requires that employers must implement regular inspections and testing of specified electrical equipment, when such equipment is made available for use by staff. Other than the legal requirement, the main reason is safety. You can't afford not to do everything within your power to ensure that you and your employees are made as safe as possible.
By having all your 'plug-in' electrical equipment inspected, tested and tagged on a regular basis you are enabling any damaged or unsafe equipment to be found and repaired or removed before anyone is seriously injured or killed, as well as preventing any potential damage to your business premises. All electrical equipment connected to the electrical supply by a flexible cord and/or connecting device, which is already in service, has been serviced or repaired, or is returning to service from a second-hand sale, or is available for hire. The interval between testings depends on what type of environment the equipment is being used.
Aotea Electric's Test & Tag service includes:
- Register of your electrical equipment
- Record of formal inspections and tests
- Repair register
- Record of all faulty equipment showing details of services or corrective actions
Thermal Imaging
Thermal imaging uses a very specialised camera along with real time computer analysis to capture snapshots of any physical entity under any conditions. A colour enhanced image is produced which has a full temperature scale. This image shows any hotspots in the area to be analysed. A comprehensive report aligns the thermal image beside a digital photograph of the area to best observe any potential problems and any issues will be identified, along with suitable solutions.
Due to recent advancements in technology this has become more affordable across all facets of industry. And the benefits far outweigh the report cost.
Benefits include:
- Insurance requirements
- Cost effective and proven
- Preventative maintenance
- Motor & pump bearing problems
- Motor winding problems
- Hot fuses or switchgear
- Building heat loss issues
- Electrical troubleshooting
UPS Servicing
UPS protection systems are now an integral part of many companies. Quality and availability of electrical power have become vitally important due to the use of computers and electronics in commercial and industrial applications. We offer an advisory, supply and installation, and planned maintenance service for all your UPS applications.
Disturbances in distribution systems can result in major losses or health and safety hazards in:
- Process industries, where a malfunction in the control/monitoring systems can result in production losses.
- Airports and hospitals where faulty operation of equipment can represent a serious danger to human life.
- Information and communication technologies, where there is a high requirement for reliability and dependability
- Data Centres where they function without halts for maintenance.
