Aotea Electric Westland have been an associated electrical contractor for Westfleet Seafoods since they began in 2006. When they decided to expand and build a new, modern 3500 metre square Factory Facility onsite at the Port of Greymouth, Aotea were there to make it happen.
Westfleet Seafoods Limited is a land based fish processor, pack house (PH143). They also own and operate a fleet of 5 company owned vessels via their vessel holding company Westfleet Fishing Limited; three trawlers and two bottom long liners, as well as three other contract fishing trawler vessels which supply to them 12 months of the year.
When Westfleet Seafoods decided to build a new, modern 3500m2 Factory Facility and wharf at the mouth of the Erua Moana Lagoon onsite at the Port of Greymouth, Aotea Electric Westland were selected to be the Electrical sub-contractors for CYB Construction Limited. The project required attentiveness to detail and quick response time, both in work hours and after hours. After a successful outcome with the new factory build, Aotea Electric Westland were also brought on to build their new chiller in 2019, boosting their processing capacity by 20 per cent.
The Westfleet Seafoods factory currently processes around 100 tonnes of fish per week bringing the freshest produce to the New Zealand domestic market, the Australian market and international markets throughout the world. Aotea Electric Westland are proud to have been and continue to be a part of Westfleet Seafoods’s thriving operation.
