Aotea Electric Southern provided all electrical services along with new nurse call and audio visual systems for the new Dunedin Hospital ICU unit in line with the latest modern medical care practices.
Aotea Electric Southern are proud to have been selected by Naylor Love as a key strategic partner in the construction of the new ICU (Intensive care unit) at Dunedin hospital. Aotea Electric Southern provided all electrical services along with new nurse call and audio visual systems helping to bring the new ICU in line with modern medical care practices. A major reason for Aotea being selected on this project is the wealth of experience Aotea has developed in completing electromedical installations over the last 20 years.
This installation was required to be certified to a cardiac protected area in line with AS/NZS 3003:2011. Having multiple patient zones forming two separate cardiac protected areas posed its challenges however Aotea was able to design a compliant system that meet the strict earthing requirements of the standard.
As the redevelopment was carried out in a fully operation hospital many challenges were faced and detailed work plans were needed to be developed in collaboration with the client, Aotea successfully completed major shutdowns off existing electrical services without hindering essential hospital services.
A major reason for Aotea being selected on this project is the wealth of experience Aotea has developed in completing electromedical installations over the last 20 years.
