Aotea Electric Gains Momentum In Northland

Bay of Island based Aaron Stanners heads up the new Aotea Electric Northland branch as the region continues to grow and demand increases, servicing the busy hub of Kerikeri and surrounding areas.

Electrical Systems (Northland) Ltd became part of the Aotea Group in 2018 covering the Northland territory. Ranging from just north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga the northern most region of NZ is one of the fastest growing regions which includes the Kaipara, Whangarei and Far North District Councils. It has a population of 189,000 and a land area of 13,286km. There is plenty of water access with3,200km of coastline and 10 harbours.

Initially focusing on the Whangarei District the original team of 3 headed by Managing Director Mike Hodgson has grown to 11, and now, Bay of Island based Aaron Stanners is heading up the new Aotea Electric Northland branch further north servicing the busy hub of Keri keri and surrounding areas.

Aaron, with 15 years of electrical experience moved to Russell from Whangarei 2 years ago with his partner who works in the tourism industry. He journeys to work everyday on the Opua vehicular ferry from Russell, enjoying spectacular sunrises and sunsets, the best start and end to a working day he says.

The Bay of Islands is the perfect base for Aaron who is a technical diver and keen under water photographer. He has 10 years experience diving the nearby Poor Knights. In his spare time he is volunteering for the local St Johns. The Bay of Islands is a nice small community where everyone gets to know each other and it is a relaxing place to be he says.

Aaron undertook his apprenticeship at Fonterra’s Maungaturoto Dairy Factory, before gaining a wide range of experience in various areas including heat-pump installs, solar, domestic and commercial electrical services.
