Electrical Project Manager

About the Role:

Primarily an office-based role, the Project Manager is responsible for efficient planning, coordination, and supervision of resources, using financial and commercial acumen to monitor performance, costs, and quality over multiple projects at any one time.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant electrical construction industry experience 5 years + preferred with past Project Management experience.
  • Current electrical registration (desirable).
  • Good understanding of NZ contract legislation and standards.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • An understanding of job pricing, including materials, labour, plant, associated margin and profit calculations.
  • Provide leadership of a proactive Health & Safety culture. Ensuring compliance of Aotea health and safety policy and procedures to meet statutory requirements of all relevant acts, particularly the Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Monitor project performance including costs, milestones and ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Preparing and submitting variations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive suite of Contract documentation/data to ensure accurate and timely information for project management, financial reporting purposes and Health & Safety and Resource Management.
  • Experience in fostering and maintaining professional working relationships with Aotea BOP staff and customers.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of processes to ensure the positive promotion of Health & Safety culture and capture of accurate data in a timely manner.
  • Experience with client exposure in a contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of contract close out and commissioning experience.
  • Have a current unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Experience in MS office suite, word/excel essential, - MS Project favorable.
  • Competent in understanding the Health & Safety at Work Act regulations.
  • The right to work in NZ.
