Communications/Data Estimator

Seven Electrical is a leading Electrical contractor that has been one of the leading contracting companies in the Wellington region for over 30 years. We have an ever-increasing workload across the Wellington Region that we require Registered Electricians for immediate start! This role will suit an electrician wanting to get off the tools, has great PR with clients and enjoys juggling multiple balls at any time. They may have been in business for themselves and looking for a quieter life with a great company

Position Reports To: Senior Estimator

Position Purpose:

  • To review all incoming data/communications tenders 
  • To work with the Communications Manager on deciding which tenders the company should complete
  • To work with the Communications Manager on project pricing and the project manager on handovers

Key Duties:

Reporting:

  • You are responsible for reviewing all incoming data/communications tenders and discussing with the Communications Manager and Senior Estimator on which tenders will be worked on and which will not be looked at
  • Feedback from the customers where possible, will be reviewed and reported back to the team and the Senior Estimator
  • Market changes and wholesaler issues will be reported to the Senior Estimator
  • Provide feedback on your workload to the Senior estimator
  • Monthly report your win/loss rate and present findings to the Communications Manager

Planning and Resourcing:

  • Reviewing the tender forecast so as not to overload the team with work
  • Reviewing opportunities and working with members of staff to turn opportunities into work
  • Planning your time to allow time to quote and visit sites
  • Handing over projects to the project manager in a timely manner

Client Relationships:

  • To maintain good relationships with the
    • Engineers
    • Architects
    • Main contractors QS team
    • Project managers
    • Clients
  • Liaise with the above to achieve a good electrical outcome for the client and Aotea Communications
  • Visit sites to monitor progress and your estimation methodology
  • Assist Communications Manager with variation pricing, monthly progress claims and job progress

Training:

  • Provide training and information to your team
  • If Suppliers mention the opportunity to provide training on new products, discuss this with the Communications Manager
