Experienced Security Technician, Waikato

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Security professional to join our team, delivering unrivalled service and security system solutions across our many critical sites throughout the wider Waikato region.
About the Role
As a Senior Security Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our team on the successful delivery of high-value, technically complex tasks and/or projects. You will be responsible for communicating clearly with both internal and external stakeholders, be experienced in implementing integrated security systems, ensuring compliance with all licensing and regulatory standards, and managing detailed documentation such as plans, aiding in supporting the development of as-built drawings, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
This role requires someone who has the experience to apply rational thinking to any situation, the presence to take control of a situation and job that may arise, and the team-first mentality to work alongside the wider group and clients for the total success of the branch and company.
This role is ideal for that driven technician who wants to take ownership of their work and has the attitude to continue growing in a fast paced industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and rectify faults found on client’s systems, and communicate the actions/components required to remedy the fault
- Lead, alongside the Operations Manager, the preparation and management of ITPs, compliance documents, and licensing requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians during installation and commissioning or projects and service technicians attending reactive works.
- Collaborate with operation/project managers, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project and task execution.
- Maintain and manage detailed documentation, drawings, and change records throughout project lifecycles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during design, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the highest safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience both installing and commissioning systems including Gallagher, Inner Range, ICT, Milestone, NX Witness and Wave (as examples)
- Strong knowledge and hands on experience of PLC systems
- Strong knowledge of IT networks, server infrastructure, and core security systems.
- Proven experience in the design, delivery, and integration of large-scale security systems (CCTV, access control, perimeter detection, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in installation, testing, and commissioning of electronic security solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, licensing processes, and industry standards.
- Strong technical documentation skills, including ITPs, and as-built records.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in high-security environments.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, IT, or electronic security (or equivalent industry experience).
