Qualified Service Electrician
A good job, a good team, and work you can be proud of.
Are you a qualified sparky who enjoys a bit of variety, likes dealing with people and takes pride in doing a job properly?
Maybe you're happy where you are, but you're ready for a change. Or perhaps you're looking for a workplace where you're trusted to get on with the job, your experience is appreciated and you're part of a team that looks out for each other.
We'd love to have a chat.
At Aotea Electric Ashburton, we're a locally owned business with a great mix of work across commercial, industrial, residential, HVAC, rural and solar. We've built our business on looking after our customers, backing our people, and doing quality work we can stand behind.
We are growing and looking for a qualified Service Electrician to join our team here in Mid Canterbury.
What will your days look like?
There's plenty of variety, so you won't be stuck doing the same thing every day. You'll be out and about working with our local customers, sorting problems and helping keep their homes, businesses and operations running smoothly.
You'll be doing things like:
- Fault finding and getting to the bottom of electrical problems.
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
- Completing installations, upgrades and improvement work.
- Working across commercial, industrial, residential, HVAC, rural and solar jobs.
- Talking with customers, explaining your findings and recommending sensible solutions.
- Completing testing, commissioning and job documentation.
- Working alongside a good bunch of people who are happy to lend a hand when needed.
What sort of person will suit us?
We are looking for someone who cares about the work they do, treats customers well, and takes responsibility for getting things right.
We want someone who:
- Is a qualified, registered electrician with a current practising licence.
- Has good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Can organise their own work and use their initiative.
- Communicates well with customers and the team.
- Is reliable, practical and takes pride in their workmanship.
- Understands the importance of doing things properly and working safely.
Experience across commercial, industrial, HVAC and rural work would be great, but a positive attitude, good work habits and a willingness to get stuck in are just as important.
What can we offer you?
We know there are plenty of places looking for good electricians, so we want to make sure the right person has good reasons to choose us.
Here's what comes with the role:
- A company vehicle and phone to help you get the job done.
- Competitive pay that reflects your skills and experience.
- A varied workload across a broad range of local electrical work, including solar.
- Independence and trust to manage your jobs and get on with your work.
- A supportive team you can rely on when you need a hand.
- A locally established business with a solid range of work and opportunities to develop your skills.
Most importantly, we want you to enjoy coming to work and feel that what you bring to the team matters.
We live and work in the same community as our customers. We believe in treating people well, helping each other out and doing work we can be proud of. We're big believers in a good team making all the difference.
